Position Overview

We’re looking for a HGV Class 1 Driver who will be responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of goods to designated locations. The role requires compliance with road traffic laws, company procedures, and health & safety regulations, while maintaining high standards of professionalism and customer service.

Shift Pattern: 4on 4off // Nights out included // 54 hours
Salary: £40,040.32 // £26.20 Night out allowance (tax-free) // £40.00 Early start payment // Overtime rates available after contracted hours // Monthly pay

Key Responsibilities

• Comply with BRCGS (food and drink) and GDP (medicine) guidelines following training

• Subsequently working in a responsible manner that complies with and increases product safety and quality
• Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles
• Deliver and collect goods according to planned routes and schedules
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly
• Ensure loads are secure and transported safely
• Complete delivery paperwork and digital records accurately
• Comply with EU/UK drivers’ hours, tachograph, and Working Time Directive rules
• Maintain cleanliness and roadworthiness of the vehicle
• Communicate effectively with transport planners, customers, and depot staff.

Role Requirements  

• Valid HGV Class 1 licence
• Valid Driver CPC qualification
• Digital tachograph card
• Experience with multi-drop and full load distance work
• Tail lift and DSC/Tablet experience is desirable 
• Open to working additional shifts outside of regular 4 shift pattern
• Ability to night out all 3x nights within shift pattern
• Good knowledge of road safety and transport regulations
• Willingness to work within a banked hours arrangement in line with operational requirements.
• Strong time management and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and responsibly
• Good geographical knowledge or ability to use navigation systems
• Physically fit and able to handle manual tasks where required
