Position Overview:
We are hiring a HGV Class 1 Driver, who will be responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of goods to designated locations. This role requires a mixture of Class 1 and Class 2 driving.
The role requires compliance with road traffic laws, company procedures, and health & safety regulations, while maintaining high standards of professionalism and customer service.
Salary: £42,250 // Cover pay is £12.00 per day // Overtime at 1.5x on a Saturday and 2x on a Sunday

Key Responsibilities:
- Subsequently working in a responsible manner that complies with and increases product safety and quality
- Safely operate HGV vehicles (Class 1 & Class 2 as applicable)
- Deliver and collect goods according to planned routes and schedules
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly
- Ensure loads are secure and transported safely
- Complete delivery paperwork and digital records accurately
- Comply with EU/UK drivers’ hours, tachograph, and Working Time Directive rules
- Maintain cleanliness and roadworthiness of the vehicle
- Communicate effectively with transport planners, customers, and depot staff.
Role Requirements:
- Valid HGV Class 1 & 2 licence
- Valid Driver CPC qualification
- Digital tachograph card
- Good knowledge of road safety and transport regulations
- Strong time management and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and responsibly
- Good geographical knowledge or ability to use navigation systems
- Physically fit and able to handle manual tasks where required
